I wasn’t happy with the quality of the 356 reproduction gauges that are available, so I purchased some used Porsche 914 gauges and had them refaced/rebuilt by New Vintage USA. They have lots of options including the quad gauge, LED lighting, custom faces, programmable speedo etc. In my case the gauge faces were silkscreened to my specifications, the fuel gauge was converted to a quad, the tach internals replaced with new VDO 8k movement and circuitry, and the speedo was rebuilt. I’m also using the Centroid fuel level sensor which will drive a low fuel warning light in the quad gauge.

This is one of the best suppliers I have ever had the pleasure to work with, and their prices are very competitive. Their website is: http://www.newvintageusa.com/

Very nice! =D>

Is there a reason you didn't have the tach red zone from 6,000 to 7,500?

I set the tach range to match my Subie engine. You can have them made to any range you want.

Nice looking gauges. Seems to me that WayneR bought a quad gauge for his car.

Another source for gauges such as those shown are from Palo Alto speedometer and from North Hollywood speedometer

Nice find. Thanks for sharing. You should add it to Links/Builder's Resources.

What was the turn-around?

Good memory Larry.

I used 914 gauges and had them built to spec by Palo Alto.
I opted for a triple gauage though instead of a quad. In keeping with my design goals of being close to period with the odd newer model update, I went with a Nardi steering wheel as per the 1958 cars, and a triple gauge as used in a 904.

The quad gauge is nice but for my taste it was a bit too busy for my simple dash, yet I find the dual gauge not informative enough.

What is nice about cars like these is that each person can build to their own spec rather than some factory imposed version.

Here is our "Guage blasphemy" thread http://www.spyderclub.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=9354&start=0

P.S.
iflyfast, the quality of your guages looks excellent!
Wayne
