Nope.
Redline on the grocery getter is around 6k, and around 7k on the miata. Both 4 bangers.
On our Mustang all the fun was over by the time you hit 3 grand, but on these the power really doesn't even start until 3k, and I'll bet these short stroke motors even have lower piston speed than the mustang even at those elevated RPMs.
Heck, my v-6 4 litre truck even redlines closer to 7 than to 6. It has variable valve timing though, so it has power everywhere, and even more above 3k.
Porsche was way ahead of its time! _________________ |

im in for the get-together. any idea where you want to meet and what you want to see?
every saturday in Irvine there is Cars & Coffee, a gathering of exotics, classics, etc. i went this last saturday and snapped some pictures you can check out www.chrisrobertson.net
this would be a good meeting point although its early (ie 630am for a good parking spot). from here laguna beach, newport, dana point, etc are all within a pretty slim driving window.
jowdy is preparing the spyderclub tattoo guns for the meet! _________________ |

Well, I know its not July, but I just booked the 7th to the 22nd of August off and if everything goes ok, I will be bringing the spyder down to SoCal with me for a few days of driving and sunshine. Anyone else interested?
That being said, with the way my life has been lately, who knows. I may be living in my 4-runner and spyder. Road trip! _________________ Ya gotta drive it like ya stole it! |

August is much better for me. I may be there car or no car. (i'm in a holding pattern on a couple driveline parts) I think there is an open house at Jake's also, I would love to make that too. I guess I better get on the stick! _________________ you don't know what you don't know..... |

If I go anywhere near the place it would be on a bike. Spyder isn't going anywhere yet. _________________ |

I'm hoping to hit the Tail of the Dragon and Jake's on the same trip. Maybe Wayner will make it too |
Thanks The dragon was fun last weekend -- There was a rock slide at one end -- no through traffic!! |

Boy greenberg, I was getting all excited and started planning on driving my spyder down to SoCal as I have a wedding to attend at Newport Beech on the 17th of July, and then you change it to August.
Will be in Quebec then may go to Stowe Vt. for the car show.
I guess I'll drive the Beemer to SoCal instead, more comfortable. _________________ |
