Great news -- See you there!!
Hard to say how many. I can pick out 4 names on the Official Check-In List on www.speedsterowners.com that I know are spyders. I don't know who porscheRS550 is, but sounds suspiciously like he could be a spyder guy.
So that looks like 5, plus you makes 6. Dempwolf has a place in nearby Cambria that he shares with Goofycat for this weekend. They haven't Officially checked-in at speedsterowners but Dempwolf has said he IS coming. So together with Goofycat that's maybe 8.
Don't know about Prototype4 and others that are on-the-fence (you should lean on Proto to join your caravan).
Just a guess: 6-12

For those of you who were sitting on your thumb while chrislee snagged the last hotel room (proto, this would include you ) don't feel like the event is "sold out".
There are plenty of rooms within a couple of blocks of the Blue Sail. Shop around on the internet or give Blue Sail a call to get on the waiting list and ask them for an alternate. Pick one that is walking / crawling distance from the warf. Everyone leaves the car keys in their room for the Friday and Saturday night dinners, in some cases for obvious reasons.
IMPORTANT: The event has no entry fee. It's FREE!! But there are organizers who NEED a head count on how many are coming and what events they are attending.
The organizers are volunteers who work really hard to make sure you have a great time (quite successfully!). PLEASE help them out -- Resister that you are coming at www.speedsterowners.com. Click the Morro Bay in the center of the home page.
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST PREPAY for Saturday night's "banquet / party" by April 5. In other words: Do it now!! If you miss the prepayment deadline -- tough luck for you. There are no after-the-deadline exceptions or sympathy. Miss the deadline = no admittance to the Saturday night party.
Otherwise, independently pay-as-you-go for your own food, lodging and wine tasting.
Go to www.speedsterowners.com Instructions for prepaying Saturday dinner are there on the site where you register your attendance.

Hope to meet some of you,

Well Mark, the best I could console myself with is a trip to Lake Tahoe to help out a friend move in a slot machine as promised (long story, too silly), take in some skiing and vist some relations in the Bay Area. But I admit the prospect of escaping this urban armpit called LA, is soooooo tempting.

Chris -- the "event" is free. Just show up and pay for your own food and lodging, EXCEPT for the Saturday night dinner. That is a pre-paid event, by check payable to Dusty.
He MUST receive your check by the 5th in order to count you in. I suggest emailing him to say the check is in the mail.
Look forward to a good time. The count is now 46!!! That's a lot of fiberglass!
Three weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone concerned about the weather?
I plan on leaving LA on Wednesday afternoon and going up to Big Sur first, then down to Cambria in time for lunch on Friday.
Dan
PS My Spyder has no top (not that it would do any good).

I've been looking at the weather reports for Morro and North (San Jose) - and both look nearly perfect for all three days Friday-Sunday...the current Morro forecast is for 0% chance of rain all three days and low 60's for high temps......looks like equally dry for L.A. if a bit warmer...
.
(pretty safe - so you shouldn't have to keep the Spyder above 40mph to keep the rain off)

My problem is wednesday and thursday look kind of iffy on the coast.
Not worried about me, but I don't want to soak the Spyder's interior.

ahh, I see - looks like Wednesday is the problem day - hope you can work it out - so far we've made it to all these events in the past few years - but in 2007 wound up driving a Buick to the event when it was too rainy for the Spyder! The Speedster people attending usually just grit their teeth, put up with leaky tops and plow on - a bit tougher for us Spyder owners - many of whom have no tops or tonneau covers at all.....Mark P has been the master of navigating through and around the rain as needed....
